Anyone can get HPV because HPV doesn't care about your sex, sexual activness, favourite movie, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, etc.HPV infections start to pop up in a few months to a few years, usually after sexual activity. Some types of HPV can develop cancer in the vulva, anus, penis, vagina, and even the back of the throat. The good news is that your body's immune system fights HPV infections to disappear on their own!Remember, it's important to talk to your health care professional (like your nurse practioner or family doctor) on ways to lower HPV risks based on your medical history and lifestyle and to keep yourself informed.
